The Diocesan policy has changed for any parent, volunteer, coach, or chaperone requiring a background check. Anyone in need of a new background check, or having an expired one (valid for 5 years), please follow the below steps ...

Step 1: Watch FSGC Videos

Go to the diocesan website (cdow.org). In the right column at the bottom you will see a section for links … click on the “For the Sake of God’s Children” link and then click on “FSGC: SAFE ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION” and all 3 videos will appear. Click on the arrow for each video. The total time viewing is about 33 minutes. After watching the videos, please follow the instructions at the bottom of the page to complete the acknowledgement form and the form will be sent to the Office of Safe Environments.

Step 2: Email Confirmation

Once you have completed the videos you will receive an email confirmation Please forward a copy of this to Lorrie Timanus ([email protected]). When she receives your email, you will be cleared to receive the background clearance paperwork.

Step 3: Pick up the Paperwork & Drop off the Check

Once Mrs. Timanus receives your confirmation email she will email you where to pick up the background clearance paperwork. A fee of $45 to be paid by cash or check to IHM is required for the clearance (which is good for 5 years). Please notify her of when you can stop by.
